We hope you
will
enjoy your visit to our self-improvement ebook web site and will return
here
often. Featured on this
site you will
find many of the most powerful, life-changing
self help books and metaphysical books for personal development and
spiritual growth ever written. These timeless self-improvement books
are the very ones that
inspired the thinking of many of todays' best known personal
development, motivational writers and coaches such as Anthony Robbins,
Wayne Dyer,
Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Og Mandigo, Louise Hay, Eckhart
Tolle, Brian Tracy, Bob
Proctor, Rhonda Byrne, etc.
Terms such as self-help, self-improvement, personal development, self
growth, and personal improvement are often used interchangeably to
describe self-guided improvement — economically,
intellectually, or emotionally — usually with a substantial
psychological or spiritual basis. Philosophies traditionally start with
a metaphysics: a theory of the essence of things, of the fundamental
principles that organize the universe. These are generally referred to
as universal laws, and the law of attraction, i.e. that like attracts
like, is the fundmental law of the universe upon which other universal
laws are based. Metaphysical books therefore deal with causation mainly
rather than with effects, and applied metaphysics (known as New
Thought) is the practical
application of metaphysical knowledge to real life desires and needs.
Our classic self-help books focus on subjects that have become
very
popular in recent years such as: the law of attraction, subconscious
mind
power, positive mental attitude, self-healing, creative visualization,
attracting and
manifesting wealth, overcoming addictions, conquering anxiety, stress
&
depression, self hypnosis, autosuggestion, mind power
techniques, overcoming negative thinking, affirmations, mental
and spiritual healing, personal magnetism, thought-power, memory
improvement, mind reading, self-mastery, scientific prayer,
meditation, human emotions and relationships, public
speaking, etc., many of
which have in the past gone under the headings of new thought,
mental science, or new-age thinking, but are generally known as
self-help, self-improvement and personal development books. If you
visit your local book store you are sure to find lots of shelf space
devoted to self help, personal development, self-improvement books, as
the personal growth industry is a rapidly expanding one.
These self help books are not about mind tricks and wishful
thinking, they are about reprogramming the subconscious mind
using
well
established techniques such as autosuggestion, visualization and
positive affirmation in
order to establish healthy new thought patterns and a prosperity
consciousness which will attract an abundance of all good things into
one's life.
Positive thinking and a positive mental attitude coupled with
deep desire and initiative open the floodgates to greater good. These
self-help books
and self-improvement audio lectures and self- development audio books

psychology
and positive philosophy for everyday living based on sound, time tested

How To Free And Use Your Stored Energy
by A. S. D.
RECKONING WITH INERTIA
Inertia is a commonplace word. We all know what it means, but we don't think about it.
It is what is the matter with most of us and it pretty generally interferes with our success.
The average business man weighs from one hundred and fifty to two hundred pounds. That is quite a weight.
If he had to carry that number of pounds about all day it would feel heavy.
He does carry it about
all day and it does feel heavy. Atmospheric pressure and the attraction
of gravitation have to be overcome.
The effort required to do this eats up some of his stored energy.
Some people seem to feel that the effort required in carrying their pounds about is all the effort they are able to make.
It requires effort to
hoist yourself out of bed, out of your chair, into your car. People
sometimes become too conscious of this effort which a universal inertia
requires of every one.
It isn't safe to think
about it much as an individual experience. A person who does this may
come to feel that ordinary effort is harder for him than it is for
others.
Then it will become harder because his mind places too much emphasis upon it. Emphasis increases the sense of effort.
When one feels his effort too much he gets sorry for himself, then he begins to be good to himself, then he gets lazy.
If he gets lazy enough he often thinks he is ill and if he thinks that long enough he may become ill.
Human beings
must face the fact of inertia and reckon with it. Though their
imagination may have wings they must consent to let their bodies have
weight.
Sleep, proper food,
cold baths, interest in one's work, and a good conscience go far toward
minimizing inertia and making effort easy.
It is sometimes easier to make a big effort than a little one. It may be less difficult to leap out of bed than to crawl out.
If a person under the
influence of inertia feels that it is next to impossible to rise from
his chair and walk downstairs, it may be a good thing to jump up, whirl
around three times, run down stairs out the door and around the block.
He may come back with
such a release of energy that will keep him going easily and happily
all day long. The fight with inertia is no harder for you than for the
next man. It is a universal pest, but a small amount of our stored
energy dexterous-ly applied can be relied upon to break its
damaging power.
The Road to Success is Often Paved with Failures
I assume that many times in your life, failures occur and annoy you
like a stubborn child. All people experience challenging moments in their
lives. Even triumphant men and women have passed through these stages before
they became successful. They continued to fail at times, despite all the
successes they have gained. The encouraging thing is that amid all their
failures, winning was still the name of their game.
Now let me ask you. Why should you give up to failure when others didn’t?
Have you ever asked yourself this question when failures seem to surmount you?
Have you found out why? Or do you just sit there on the corner and say to
yourself: “That’s what I’ve got, I’ve had it!”
Well, think again.
Admitting your failure is part of the struggles you face every time you
are in a very challenging situation. Actually, it’s healthy to reflect on your
losses. However, submitting to them shouldn’t be the case in dealing with your
problems. There’s a big difference between these two. This difference can bring
out the best or the worst in you.
Failure puts us to the test. Let’s say that there’s this project of
developing an automobile tire that could run even on harsh road conditions. The
tire was simulated to run for several miles on one of the worst roads we can
imagine. However, researchers were not satisfied with the materials and its
durability. Do you think they will just give up the whole idea of their
research, pack their things up, and quit the project? No way. They’ll go back
to the drawing board and reformulate a new material for the tire they’re
experimenting on until they find one that is acceptable. You can be sure about
that.
That should be the same attitude you must adopt in experiencing and
dealing with your failures in life. You may say, “That is so difficult to do!”
Obviously, there are reasons for every obstacle that we face; and every problem
has a solution that we just have to discover.
If you submit to failure, you can expect more failures for the rest of
your life. You may look at every facet of your life as somewhat demanding, and find
futility running around you. Submitting to failures is the easy way to escape
reality. It is the lifestyle of the coward, the lazy, the lame, the
good-for-nothing. Wow! With all those insulting names, who would want to be
included on those categories?
On the other hand, if you admit that you have failed but you’re on
your way of changing your life for the better, then there’s the great chance
that these failing marks can turn into successful moments of your life. Again,
you may ask, “How can this be so?” This will happen because when you open your
doors to give success chances to prove its worth, you are in effect making
every effort to defeat failure. Just like a boxer that has been knocked down,
you must not give up to the mandatory eighth count. You must rise from the
ashes of defeat and fight back until you triumph in life.
History has proven that some of the failures of great men and women did
not prove to be losses at all. You’ve probably heard of Thomas Edison who
invented the light bulb. Did you know that he came across twelve hundred kinds
of materials before successfully making the perfect light bulb, which we are
now using for our advantage? If Mr. Edison did not pursue his goal, amid all
his failed attempts, then we would probably be searching everything and
everyone in the dark. Most likely, other electrical devices pertinent to the
invention of the light bulb would not have been invented. This did not happen
because Mr. Edison’s determination to overcome failure after failure prevailed.
If the Guinness Book of World Records existed during Thomas Edison’s time, he
would have gotten the record of the inventor who had the most failures even up
to this day.
Mr. Edison’s vision and attitude is the best example of how we can
surpass failures and turn them into success. You can just imagine the intensity
of his positive thinking to conquer failure and his determination to achieve
his goal.
You can learn a valuable lesson from him which can aid you into turning your own seeming failures into successes also.
