Delmer Eugene Croft
Writer of Self-Help Motivational literature
Delmer Eugene Croft (1864-1925), was an American writer and lecturer. Born on July 27, 1864 in Enosburg, Vermont, United States to Joseph Benjamin and Pamelia Ann (Buck) Croft.
He achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in the University of Vermont, 1889 and completed Pond’s course in theology. In 1892 he became an ordained Baptist minister and held pastorates in Vermont, Massachusetts and New York. He lectured in the Lyceum, New York from 1897.
An organizer the Progressive Party in Connecticut in 1912, he published at least seven short books between 1915-1922, including Supreme Personality, 1914. Supreme Miracles, 1915, Supreme Self-Command, 1916 and Supreme Love Thrills, 1917 and Supreme Forces of Mind 1920. He worked and printed his books out of New Haven, Connecticut.
Delmer Eugene Croft has been listed as a notable writer and lecturer by Marquis Who's Who. He was the Mark Twain of early 20th Century Motivational literature. He peppered his self-help booklets with humorous sayings and sometimes even humorous illustrations.
