Daniel Boone Herring
Christian New Thought Author
When Daniel Boone Herring (1868-1957) was born in July 1869, in Collin, Texas, United States, his father, William Edmond Herring, was 21 and his mother, Sarah Catherine Little, was 25. He married Ida Lee Belcher about 1893, in Navarro, Texas, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Purdon, Navarro, Texas, United States in 1900 and Justice Precinct 7, Dallas, Texas, United States in 1910.
Herring suffered a tumultuous childhood, growing up in poverty and facing numerous challenges, including abuse and addiction. Despite these difficulties, he was able to turn his life around and become a successful entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker. Through his journey, he discovered the keys to creating a new life.
He became disabled as a soldier during the first world war when he was in his late forties, and subsequently was made whole again through practical application of what he believed to be the Christ method of healing. He spent more than 10 years studying all types of world philosophies following his healing and discovered the exact science of mind-cure and cosmic laws of Mind in the teachings of new thought/mental science.
In his late fifties he began to write and later published several books on Christian metaphysical healing which were an outgrowth of his own practical demonstration of the one marvelously simple healing truth which Jesus taught and used.
He explains the exact process by which he was raised from near death to life and health after returning from the war disabled. As he lay on his hospital bed, the process, which Jesus taught and manifested, was revealed to him. From that hour he began to improve. He rose from his bed of pain and went about the Father's business. His books explain the principles of Mind healing from a Christian New Thought perspective.
He died on 27 March 1957, in Dallas, Dallas, Texas, United States, at the age of 87.
